Law , and the order!

Law is a very tricky field. Seeing as it’s mostly words, and verbal arguments. A case can pretty much go any other way, because after every single day, there is a different way to interpret the law. Which makes working to keep the streets safe a really hassle. For some reason, the law is left to interpretation, and those who are clearly guilty, they usually get off because of some loophole that their defense attorney finds for them. Well That happens a lot in the SVU episodes. The detectives build up such a great case, just for the defense attorney to pick the small pieces and then just totally destroy everything, that they worked so hard for!
I have always been interested in law, interested in Politics, interested in how the government and how the legislation works. I want to be a great lawyer, depending on the certain cases, I would like to do either prosecution or even becoming a defense attorney!I’m a pre-law student, I try different types of study techniques, and one that I find most effective to retaining knowledge is by teaching it to others. Like Stephen Colbert, and his astro-physists segment. 1.You have to ask questions, 2. be open minded, 3. know things, 4. and then teach those things! So I’ve asked many questions, and I’m quite open minded to the interpretation of the law, and I’m very interested in your opinions, I know things, and now I’m going to teach those things!
For me to become a lawyer, and be able to represent a client before a court, I would have to become a member of the bar. The BAR is the term used to refer to all of the licensed members of the legal profession. Every stat, has their own requirements in order for a person to be able to enter the Bar. In order to get into the bar, I’ve got to pass the Bar examination that will be submitted to the bar association.
In order to become a great defense attorney, I must be able to write professionally, and this is just incredible practice for me. I just type in what I remember, and what I know, teach it to others, retain the information, and get a lot of bonuses out of it! I can reach others, get their opinions, retain the knowledge, and practice my writing skills. Well until next time folks!

A great Episode!

Recently I saw this one episode, I forget the name, but it wasn’t new, it was just a re-run on the USA network. This was the episode where Olivia was undercover, working for the FBI, to try and find out who were the bad eco-terrorists. But while she was out there, there was a murder of a scientist who was murdered, and mauled by someone, and her people become the prime suspect. Being the veteran SVU detective that she is, she knows right away that it’s a sex crimes.
But back in New York, Elliot is on the witness stand, telling the court that the defendant was had raped the young girl. They even had the video evidence, and chewing gum that was spat out by the rapist. But the defense attorney, said that the girl didn’t identify him, and there was no way of telling who it was by watching that surveillance video. He said that the only way they caught his client was because of the gum with his DNA o it. So he tries to call Olivia to the stand saying tat she had some problems with the client, saying that she planted the evidence there. Well the clients DNA was in the system because he was charged for a prior rape!
Well, back in Olivia’s world, they found the killer of the scientist. He turned out to be a pedo, and he was murdered by a girl, he kept secret inside the garage of his house. He had a secret room, where he had kept her there. The FBI found that missing girl, and then sent her back home. She went back to New York, and she met up with Stable again! Overall it was an interesting episode, and I’m sure you’ll be able to see it again, seeing as there will be plenty of Law and Order SVU marathons on USA!

A horrible Defense! But it Worked!

A professor of mine once said that the court trials in all of the Tv shows are quite inaccurate. He says that it’s not that exciting, there is a lot of research, and a lot of work involved. I wanted to become a lawyer so bad, because I always thought I would get that DUN DUN, every time we’d go to a commercial or to the next scene. SVU addresses a lot of the delicate issues that have come up in our world nowadays, from kidnaping to sodomy, to battery, to selling children on the black market.
A case that I saw recently was one where there was a student who sexually assaulted his teacher,, and when he went to trial, his defense attorney fought a case that he was mentally disturbed. He even brought experts to testify that he had a problem with his brain, that makes him want to have sex all of the time. So the kid get’s off but has to go to 18 months in a mental prison. I kind of disliked what the young man’s attorney did here. I didn’t believe in that defense at all.
Inside that prison he get’s attacked by an elder man, and he was injured. When that guy goes to the interrogation room, he says to the cops. “ I have that same disease that kid’s got, I’m just wired wrong, I can’t help it” So now his defense attorney is going to use that in his favor, in order to get him off. That just ticked me off, at the fact that every future rapist is going to try to use that excuse that they can’t help them selves, and then no one would be safe anymore, might as well just get rid of the entire court system, because the defense attorney is just going to win that case.

Law and Order SVU!

From interviewing the witnesses, comforting the victims, rounding up the suspects, prosecuting the guilty, and imprisoning the criminal. Law and Order SVU is just one of the greatest tv shows ever created. It is one of the main reason why I wanted to become an lawyer in the first place. SVU is always pushing the envelope always showing the true decay of certain people in our society. But as the criminal evolve into sicker and more sadistic criminals. SVU Shows that the police also evolves with them!
Everything is quite close to the true details, and yet in the court cases, even though I want ADA Casey Novack to win her cases all the time, she doesn’t. It just shows the realistic feel that the real Lawyers al don’t always win their cases. They created some defense attorneys which really grinds my gears, and I always told myself that I would never become a lawyer like that. I would fight for th innocent, and try to protect the people, from the scum of our society!
